The free tool svc2kxp, which must be run in DOS, changes service configurations in order to make your computer as safe as possible. It includes pre-configured scripts for three typical PC applications (LAN, Standard, All), and has a restore function available in order to undo changes.  svc2kxp makes it easier to deal with services that are loaded when an operating system starts and that are not necessary, that increase security holes, and that consume system resources.  It is recommended to back up your system before using svc2kxp!
