The freeware RefreshForce can be used in any system irrespective of the graphic card and the monitor vendor to gain the best possible frequency from the monitor. In the case of OpenGL and Direct 3D-games, the video refresh rate automatically decreases to the uncomfortable value of 60 Hz in the case of Windows 2000/XP. Even in games that are to use the best possible frequency from the monitor, extra tools are needed.
