Microsoft Community Bar is an add-on for Internet Explorer that displays information on the website currently being viewed in the sidebar of the browser. As well as extra search functions, it allows you to leave messages, rate the site and leave tag information, and also chat with other people looking at the same site. When the Community Bar is open, Internet Explorer sends the site address to a special server. The server collects all the information it can find on the send and sends it back. The Community Bar can easily be adjusted with HTML or JavaScript, offering increased interactivity for different websites.
