CPUIdle Extreme (Win 9x/Me) which can be used to save energy and to lower the chip temperature in order to prolong the life of the chip. CPUIdle Extreme makes use of the capability of modern processors which can activate a energy saving mechanism using the HLT command, the positive side-effect of this is the sinking of the operating temperature by a degree or two. This little tool works with almost all processors as of the Pentium generation. A nice little tool for ordinary users, but very useful for people who over clock their chips. The Motherboard Monitor freeware tool must be installed in order to use the Monitoring function.
